When owning property in Dubai, having a Title Deed is a critical aspect of the process. The Title Deed is the official document proving property ownership, whether it’s a villa, apartment, or any other type of real estate. You will have the original Title Deed if you own the property outright. However, if you have a mortgage on the property, the bank will retain the original Title Deed, and you will receive a copy of the document.
The Title Deed is a vital document that is needed for various legal and administrative purposes. With a copy of the Title Deed, you can process your DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) registration, rent out your property, and register a tenant’s Ejari (rental agreement) and telecommunications. Therefore, it’s essential to ensure that you have the latest digital copy of your Title Deed to avoid any discrepancies or issues that may arise in the future.
To obtain the latest digital copy of your Title Deed, you can use the Dubai REST App, available for download on your phone. Once you log in to the app as an individual, select the “Dashboard” option from the bottom panel, which will bring up the “My Property Wallet” screen. From there, select the property you wish to download the Title Deed for, which will bring up your property details. Finally, select the purple circle with three vertical dots, and from the list of options, pick the electronic Title Deed option to download the latest version.
